The dialogue about your past is very shallow and the main character dosemt really have to atone for anything because the jedi order just put in a new personality where revan once was. Kotor 2 didnt have a twist and its story was much better but as well kotor 2 was what made revan such a intriguing character.

Imo KOTOR is still worth playing even if you got spoiled. Although the Revan reveal is an important part of what makes the game great there's plenty of other components that make the game awesome.
